J-Term

January Term

Following the fall semester and winter break is an innovative 10 day January Term (J-Term). This special term provides students with the opportunity to dedicate themselves to a particular course or project. J-Terms allow staff and students to explore and share an area of interest in an intensive format.

I am sure few of you are thinking about J Term 2009, but now is a good time to take care of some J Term business.  If you are planning to participate in one of the off campus courses you may need to begin working on finances and other arrangements over the summer.
The 2009 J-Term courses include:
  • Paris, France, 8-Day Tour
  • Schoodic Point Research
  • Internships

If you have any questions about these opportunities you should contact the advisors:

France:       Mrs. Sharon Daigle-Gerrish (gerrishs@mssm.org)
Schoodic:    Dr. Deb Eustis-Grandy (eustis-grandyd@mssm.org)
Internships: Mrs. Sharon Daigle-Gerrish (above) or Mrs. Deb McGann                           (Mcgannd@mssm.org)

J-Term offers something of interest for everyone and is a fabulous way to explore your curiosities. J-Term's focus is usually more on the exploration of a topic and additional out-of-class work is usually not assigned.
