Admission to the MSSM is highly competitive. Applications are encouraged from students in and outside the state of Maine, as well as internationally.

MSSM admits students with a strong commitment to academics alongside a high aptitude in the math and sciences. The student body has a range of interests and backgrounds. Applications are encouraged from students who are interested in an advanced math and science curriculum in a unique residential setting.

In addition to their academic ability, students are selected on the basis of maturity, motivation, and their ability to contribute positively to the residential environment.
