Mrs. McGann considers herself a dedicated Maineiac. She's lived in Aroostook County almost as long as she resided in her childhood home of Wells, Maine. Mrs. McGann attended the University of Maine, receiving a BS in Nutrition followed by an MS in Food Science. After graduate school she was employed at the University of Maine, performing chemical analyses of plant tissues in support of research involving both natural and residual food toxins. Later, at the University of New Hampshire, she worked as a research technician, where she studied the efficacy of cancer-fighting agents and their effect on cellular biochemistry. Mrs. McGann began her teaching career at the University of Maine at Presque Isle where, in addition to teaching a variety of science classes and labs, she designed both an assessment tool for science placement and a developmental science course. Here at the MSSM, she has taught chemistry and biology and has served several years as summer camp director. For the past two years, she has felt honored to represent the MSSM as Dean of Admissions, although she is excited to return to the classroom.

Mrs. McGann and her husband, Michael, live in Presque Isle along with their cat and dog. With the nest left far too empty by their two sons away in college, she enjoys devoting more time to hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and most of all, skiing.
