  • Bio

Mr. Shorty is a Maine native with a thirst for adventure. After graduating from the MSSM in 1998 traversed the country, sampling a multitude of academic disciplines ranging from Film at the College of Santa Fe to Physics at University of Maine until he found the sweet, sweet, nectar that is Mathematics at University of Maine at Farmington. After a two year stint working in the woods of Maine on hiking trails with the Maine Conservation Corp, Mr. Shorty decided to further pursue his love for Mathematics. After a three year sojourn in Bozeman, Montana, Mr. Shorty graduated with his MS in Mathematical Sciences and felt the call back to his home state of Maine via canoe (Mr. Shorty completed the Northern Forest Canoe Trail in 2008).

His interests include: hiking, camping, canoeing, daydreaming, dancing like no one is watching, and grabbing life by the horns. Academic Interests include: Dynamical Systems, Alternative Energy, Stochastic Processes, and Mathematical modeling. He has also been awarded the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant award and the Most Enthusiastic Graduate Student award from Montana State University.
