MSSM NewsMichael Lambert Joins MSSM Administrative Team as Chief Operating Officer2010-06-07The Maine School of Science and Mathematics has appointed Michael Lambert to serve as Chief Operating Officer, beginning July 5, 2010. Prior to accepting the position as COO, Mr. Lambert was the Superintendent of Schools for MSAD #30, (Lee) and School Union #11 (Carroll, Drew, Lakeville, Macwahoc and Reed Plantations) since 2007. Mr. Lambert also served as Director of Operations and Facilities Coordinator for MSAD #67(Lincoln) for several years. Having served in various positions as an engineer for Great Northern Paper Company and Georgia Pacific, Mr. Lambert has extensive experience in facilities operations and management. Mr. Lambert will work closely with the school’s executive director and business office in building and managing the MSSM budget and will serve as the school’s Human Resource officer. In addition, he will also be responsible for managing the school's buildings and grounds. His knowledge of Maine’s education laws and State reports, bidding requirements, his many years of experience with overseeing the budget process, and managing the daily operations of a school will be beneficial to moving the MSSM's mission forward. Mr. Lambert was born and raised in Augusta, Maine. He received a BS in Engineering Physics (1974) from UMO, as well as an MBA (1993) from Thomas College. He is married to Diana Libby of Auburn, with one daughter, Meghan, who lives in Bangor. Among his personal interests, Mr. Lambert enjoys Acadian and Scottish genealogy, Maine history, fishing, and snow shoeing. His knowledge and experience will be a welcome addition to the MSSM Administrative Team. |
