Summer Camp Staff Positions

We are looking for some qualified and enthusiastic people to work at Summer X. If you are interested in working at camp, please email Carley Moore, Assistant Director of Summer Camp, at moorec@mssm.org.

Teachers:

Summer X is looking for talented and enthusiastic people who have experience working with 5th to 9th grade students. Each teacher will offer two courses for the duration of camp. The classes should be hands-on and interactive and should challenge the campers to think about math and science in a new way. For more information, email Carley Moore at moorec@mssm.org

Mentors:

Mentors are generally high school (16 years old or older) or college students who have a passion for math and science and who have a desire to work with youth. Mentors will live in a family with 12-15 campers and will be responsible for those campers. They will also work with a teacher and assist in classroom activities. Self-motivation, enthusiasm, dedication, and creativity are all qualities of a good mentor.

Houseparents:

Summer X is seeking qualified, mature adults to serve as houseparents for each of the camp sessions. Houseparents live in the dormitory with the campers and are responsible for the well-being of the 12 - 15 campers in their "families". Houseparents ensure the campers are awake and ready for class each morning, assist in daily dorm maintenance and group activities, and report illnesses to the camp nurse. Each houseparent will be paired with a student mentor who will also live with the campers. Interested individuals should be motivated, energetic, and willing to play an important role in this wonderful experience.
