This summer the Maine School of Science and Mathematics will be hosting a week-long professional development opportunity for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) educators who currently work with students in grades 3-12. This educators’ collaborative will take place August 7- August 13, 2016.
Educators that join will have the opportunity to take three week-long immersive courses in selected S.T.E.M fields. Our course options will be posted on our website this spring. In addition, we will be providing time for educators to meet, debrief, plan and collaborate.
Our hope is to encourage Maine S.T.E.M educators to share their passions and talents with one another to form a community vested in improving student learning in S.T.E.M topics across Maine.
We also encourage teacher-leaders to apply as presenters at our 2016 Educators’ Camp. We will be selecting the top 18 course proposals (if you are interested, please fill out a presenter application). A stipend is provided to presenters.
The Educators' Camp is $100 for Maine residents and $300 for out-of-state residents. The majority of costs to run the program are donated through private donors and Maine businesses. The event will take place at the Maine School of Science and Mathematics in Limestone, ME. We will be organizing recreational activities for educators in the afternoons.
