Congratulations on your acceptance to the Maine School of Science and Mathematics. Your academic accomplishments have provided you with an extraordinary opportunity to maximize your educational experience.

Students from both the Limestone Community School (LCS) and the Maine School of Science and Mathematics (MSSM) participate together as the LCS/MSSM Eagles. We offer nineteen varsity sports throughout three sports seasons. These extra-curricular activities provide great opportunities for fellowship and the development of transitional skills and lifetime memories.

As an MSSM student, participation on a LCS/MSSM team will be challenging in itself. Your academic schedule is demanding and will require dedication, lots of communication, and good time management skills. There will be game and practice conflicts in your schedule with classes, activities, meal periods, as well as, holidays and breaks. Participation in the athletics program has many benefits and can be a very rewarding experience; however, it is a decision that should not be taken lightly. Your instructors, coaches, and families will all have expectations of you, so take the necessary time to coordinate with everyone as you plan your upcoming year. Many of the tryouts alone take place when MSSM is on break or holiday.

I have included a list of varsity coaches with contact numbers as well as my contact information as you finalize your decision about participating on a LCS/MSSM sports team.

Please keep in mind that if you are planning to participate in a LCS/MSSM fall sport, you cannot practice with your hometown school team. This would be considered an MPA violation and you would be deemed ineligible to play until the winter sports season.
