Conquering a Corn Maze
Last Saturday, over 30 MSSM students went on an excursion to Goughan's Farm (Gone's Farm) and took on their famous corn maze. Goughan's Farm has been a fixture in the area since the mid-80s and offers such amusements as mini golf, a petting zoo, and a classic merry-go-round, among others. The corn maze was, for many of the students, the highlight of the day. Randomly spread throughout the maze lay many different challenges designed to test problem-solving skills and teamwork alike.
When the group finished navigating through the maze, some well-deserved ice cream was given to them, courtesy of the homemade selection on the farm. Afterwards, the students visited the petting zoo area where they met animals associated with the charm of Goughan. Each student took home a little pumpkin as a kind memory of this autumn adventure.
Trips like these provide MSSM students with much-needed opportunity to relax and bond with their peers, with a touch of local Maine tradition. It was a great chance for everyone to chill out and have a perfect fall day in Aroostook County.
