Irrational Ramblings
We celebrated Pi Day (3-14) by eating pie and irrationally reciting it to as many digits as possible. Congrats to winners Ari, Madison, and Lily. We were entertained by Pi jokes from Advisory Coordinator and Humanities Instructor Josh Primiano and Mathematics Instructor and Intergalactic Ambassador Larry Berz. Not everyone simply recited Pi from memory direct, some used creative ways of expressing the irrational number such as using the Leibniz Series, Euler's Formula, or Archimedes’ Approximation. As long as they said more than 3.14, students earned themselves a small pie. The three winners received larger pies and the winner also took home a gift card.
Today is also the day we send admission decisions to possible new penguins. Those went out on 3-14 at 1:59 pm.
