Maine School of Science and Mathematics students delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 Maine State Math Meet, placing 2nd in Division A and 4th overall across all divisions. MSSM also earned strong individual results, with Abhi Reddy tying for first in the state with a score of 72. Other top scorers for MSSM included Thomas Nonken with 65, Finn Dedek with 63, Ethan Pettyjohn with 62, and Saketh Adabala with 59. Reflecting on the experience, Abhi said, “Being able to go up on the stage and get that award meant a lot to me since I put a lot of time into the math team, and it felt great to see it pay off. It was great being in that big arena with so many people like me who love math.”

Held at the Augusta Civic Center, the 47th annual Maine State Math Meet brought together hundreds of students from across the state for a day of challenging competition and recognition. Organized by the Maine Association of Math Leagues, the event featured six individual rounds, two relay rounds, and a collaborative team section, giving students a chance to test both their individual problem-solving skills and their teamwork. The meet also celebrated the long history of math competition in Maine and honored longtime contributors who have helped shape the event over the years.
