MSSM Athletics Overview

MSSM Athletics Overview

At Maine School of Science and Mathematics (MSSM), athletics are a crucial part of student life. They provide a balance to our rigorous curriculum. While we are known for academics and unique classes, we understand the importance of the balance of work and play. Our students have the option to compete in Class D soccer, Class C cross country and track & field, and Aroostook League volleyball. We also have a few E-sports teams that compete within Maine in the fall and spring. Each sport is not merely a chance to exercise, but they involve strategy, teamwork, endurance, and mental toughness.

As the snow melts in April, the MSSM track and field athletes start their practices and then competitions in May. The competitions are held around Aroostook County and we have sent a few students to States in recent years.

We acknowledge we are not an athletic powerhouse, but we also understand the importance of having an outlet to balance the advanced curriculum of MSSM. Our students are high achievers and do well at whatever they set their mind to.
