MSSM Robotics
On Saturday, October 19th, MSSM's VEX Robotics teams 4393A and 4393C competed at John Bapst Memorial High School's Oktoberfest. Team 4393A, led by Captain Ari Anghel with members Aerie Yin, Mark Hopkins, and Dhruv Jain, reached the semifinals but were eliminated when their alliance partner's robot was knocked over. Team 4393C, captained by JR Rousseau with members Annalise Rodderick, Gregory Reischer, and Ethan Pettyjohn, advanced to the quarterfinals but lost due to a strategic task by their opponents that delivered negative points. Despite the loss, Team 4393C was the only team at the event to successfully complete the 15-second autonomous round.
In VEX competitions, teams upload their autonomous script to the field for the first 15 seconds of each match, followed by 1 minute 45 seconds of driver control. MSSM's teams will have additional opportunities to qualify for the state championship in February.
