MSSM STEM Camp Highlights

MSSM STEM Camp Highlights

As we celebrate the 27th year of MSSM's STEM Summer Camp, we're thrilled to highlight the incredible experiences that have kept young minds engaged and inspired. This summer, almost 300 campers from Maine and beyond immersed themselves in a variety of STEM activities designed to ignite curiosity and foster a passion for learning.

Our diverse array of classes offered something for everyone. In "CSI Limestone," campers became detectives, using forensic science to solve mysteries. "3D Printing" provided hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology, while "City Constructors" allowed them to design and build urban landscapes. "Alien Landing" combined creativity and engineering in a thrilling egg drop challenge. For math enthusiasts, the "Calculus" class offered an introduction to advanced mathematical concepts. "LEGO Robotics" encouraged teamwork and innovation, and the "Astronomy Adventure Tour" opened campers' eyes to the wonders of the universe.

Evenings were equally engaging with activities like Song in a Bag, Talent Shows, and Monster Night, fostering a sense of community and fun. Despite some equipment limitations, such as black and white telescopes, campers had unforgettable experiences exploring the moon with our Galactic Education Specialist, Mr. Larry Berz.

As we conclude this summer's camp, we look forward to many more years of inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders. Here's to 27 years of stimulating young minds and many more to come!

Registrations for the 2025 STEM Summer Camp will open in November. This year the Capstone Weeks filled up much sooner than usual so sign up early. www.MSSM.org/summer
