Wendy to Washington

Wendy to Washington
MSSM junior Wanting “Wendy” Huo has been selected for the United States Senate Youth Program, one of only two students chosen from across Maine. This March she will travel to Washington, D.C., for a weeklong immersion in federal government, meeting Senators and other national leaders while observing the U.S. Senate in action.
Wendy was very excited to hear she was accepted and said she is honored to attend and learn more about government. Along with the trip, Wendy will receive a $10,000 college scholarship to support her undergraduate studies.
MSSM has had a few students selected for USSYP in the past. The most recent one was selected in December of 2019 and was scheduled to visit Washington, D.C. in March of 2020, but was unable to participate due to COVID-19.
