Penguins Tough Losses
Penguins dropped their first games of the season and the Boys and Girls Soccer teams fell to the visiting Ashland Hornets. The Girls in the night's opening contest kept pace with a highly talented Hornets team, trailing 2-0 after one half. The Hornets broke open the contest in the first 10 minutes of the second half to get the final score of 6-0. In the night cap, Ashland was able to find the only goal of the first half off of a corner kick with 15 minutes left in the first half. Luke Ingalls tied up the game with 28 minutes left in the match, before Ashland found the game winner with 17 minutes left to earn the 2-1 victory.
The Girls Soccer team will have a quick turnaround, facing the Fort Fairfield Tigers this evening (Tuesday, September 12th) in the teams first road contest of the season. The Boys Soccer team will return to competition on Thursday, September 21st when they travel to Mars Hill to face the Central Aroostook Panthers at 6pm
