MSSM and Star City Syndicate

The Star City Syndicate, Northern Maine's leading Motown and Classic Pop to Contemporary Live Band, performed a concert at the MSSM/LCS Auditorium this morning. The 10 AM performance was part of the band's ongoing tour at schools in Aroostook County and both MSSM and LCS students were in attendance.

This morning's concert was special as it had a direct connection to the school, with three members of the 17-piece band being part of the school community. Anthony Scott, the lead vocalist, is an English teacher at MSSM, Mark Tasker, who plays the trumpet, is the chair of the school's Social Science and World Language department, and Sean Diette, who plays the saxophone, is the music instructor at Limestone Community School.

This made the concert even more special for the students and staff in attendance, who were able to enjoy the musical talent of their own teachers. The Star City Syndicate's performance was a delightful blend of classic pop, contemporary and Motown music that had the audience tapping their feet and singing along.
