MSSM At UMaine
On March 4th, the Maine School of Science and Mathematics (MSSM) had a bustling day filled with exciting events. The Admissions department had a booth at the Engineering Expo in Bangor, and later, students arrived by bus to attend the expo and tour the University of Maine campus. Following the tour, they had the opportunity to visit the Foster Center for Student Innovation and chat with Austin Dow-Smith, an alumnus from the class of 2012. Afterward, they toured the Advanced Structures and Composites Center, where they witnessed impressive engineering, including a 3D printed house.
The day's activities were made possible by the generous funding and support of MSSM, the Parents' Association, and the MSSM Foundation. Dinner at the University of Maine planetarium, featuring mouth-watering Moe's BBQ, was also sponsored by these organizations. The evening ended on a high note as students, parents, alumni, and prospective families gathered to attend the ice hockey game, where the seniors were honored on the ice.
The success of the day was a result of the efforts of many individuals, and the MSSM Community coming together to create a memorable event. It was an action-packed day for everyone involved, and a wonderful example of the power of collaboration and community.
