MSSM Athletic News
Friday and Saturday, October 23 & 22, were big athletic days for MSSM with both soccer teams playing in the first round playoffs and the cross country team traveling to Belfast for the Northern Maine Regional XC championship.
The #11th ranked girls soccer team lost to #6 Madawaska with a score of 6-2 at Madawaska. The #12 MSSM boys were victorious over the #5 Penobscot Valley HS boys with a final score of 1-0 after the game went to penalty kicks. With the Boys soccer teams victory against Penobscot Valley, they will advance to the Northern D Quarterfinals where they will play Schenck/Stearns on Wednesday October 26th.
Our boys' cross country team finished 3rd at regionals and are heading to states next week! We had 3 runners finish in the top 30 to individually qualify-Griffin, Morris, and Jack, but the top 5 teams automatically qualify for states, so they are all heading south next weekend! Great running to all of you!
Congratulations Maeve on placing 23rd in the girls meet and qualifying for states! With only 2 runners, our girls team can’t qualify as a team, but both ladies ran well today!
