MSSM Math Team
After a long hiatus, it was fantastic to have the 2023 State Math Meet held in person once again. It was truly heartwarming to see the level of enthusiasm for math at the high school level across the state.
We had an amazing time at the competition are proud to announce that our team achieved some noteworthy results both on the individual and team levels. We secured the third position in Division A and secured the fifth place overall. Our team's impressive performance is a reflection of our students' hard work and dedication throughout the season. I would like to give a special shout-out to our top performers - Charley Reischer, Peter Butera, and Graham Reichert- for their outstanding performance.
Charley Reischer tied for the first place as the number one junior, and we couldn't be more proud of him. Peter Butera, a senior, finished in 11th place, which is an incredible achievement given the tough competition. Graham, our freshman, put on a brilliant performance and secured the 5th place in his category. We are extremely proud of all of our team members and their accomplishments at the State Math Meet.
We would like to take a moment to appreciate every member of the Math Team for their hard work and dedication throughout the season. Preparing for the State Math Meet requires a lot of effort and commitment. Their effort and dedication did not go unnoticed and their success is a reflection of their hard work and commitment. We would also like to thank our math team coaches who worked tirelessly with the team, preparing them for the competition. We would not have been able to achieve this level of success without their guidance and mentorship. Millie Rhodes, MSSM Math Department Chair; and MSSM Math Instructors Dr. Herb Klei and Sarah Simon attended the event and volunteered in various capacities. Mrs. Rhodes was in the Appeals Room, Dr. Klei was in the Data Entry Room, and Mrs. Simon was a proctor on the main floor with students.
Once again, congratulations to everyone who participated in the State Math Meet. We are proud of all of you and we can't wait to see what the future holds for our team.
