MSSM’s Mathematics Department offers students a strong foundation in mathematical principles, with the ultimate goal of every student completing Calculus prior to graduation.
For those students who are able to advance quickly, MSSM’s Mathematics Department offers college-level classes every semester at MSSM. It’s not uncommon for MSSM students to take courses at MSSM that go far beyond AP Calculus, including Multivariable Calculus, Complex Analysis, and Differential Equations.
Collegial Math Competitions throughout the year help students to hone their love of mathematics. MSSM frequently places #1 in the Maine Association of Math Leagues (MAML) and is home to some of Maine’s most advanced students in Mathematics.
