2019 Scholarship Topics
Below are the topics for our 2019 essay contest. Prospective campers should pick one topic and submit a creative essay for an opportunity to win up to $650 scholarship to ($650 for overnight, $350 for day camp).
ESSAY TOPICS
- If you had a superpower to solve one of the world's current problems, what would it be and how would you use it?
- Congratulations! As of today, you are now the Director of MSSM Summer Camps. What would the daily schedule look like? What activities would you have for the campers? What would you like to see on the menu?
- What if you lived in a world without internet, smart phones or video games. How would you spend a week and how would it affect your everyday life?
DIRECTIONS
In a word processing document, please choose one of the topics above and submit your essay.
At the top of your first page, please include the following:

CRITERIA
Essays will be judged on creativity, composition, and clarity by a committee of Summer Camp Staff. There is no minimum word count, but we would like to see at least three paragraphs. We do take into consideration the ages of the authors when awarding the 2019 camp scholarship. This contest is for campers that have not already paid in full as we cannot issue refunds. Essays must be done solely by the campers. Awards are not transferable.
HOW TO SUBMIT
Email your essay to summercamp@mssm.org by May 31, 2019. Decisions made: June 6th and announced on Facebook June 7th. Mail handwritten essays to MSSM Summer Camp 95 High Street, Limestone, Maine 04750
