Summer Camp
The MSSM STEM Summer Camp is a place where bright minds explore the boundaries of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while still relishing the joys of a traditional summer camp. MSSM STEM Summer Camp has a calculated blend of STEM classes and engaging afternoon and evening activities, offering an unparalleled experience for academically motivated students. No prior experience or knowledge is required, only a love of STEM.
STEM Classes
Start your day by diving into our diverse selection of classes. Don’t worry, there’s no homework and no tests. Instructors assume you have nothing more than an interest in the topic and teach you from the ground up. These courses are taught by Maine teachers from around the state in small, interactive settings, providing an ideal environment for individualized learning. Classes are announced in April, but past classes have included CSI, 3D Printing, Intro to Programming, LEGO Robotics, Model Rockets, Underwater ROVs, Science Behind Art, Entrepreneurship, Escape Room, Build Your Own Board Game, and so many more.
Afternoon and Evening Activities
While mornings are for academic exploration, afternoons and evenings are all about traditional summer camp fun. Take part in sports, go hiking, engage in arts and crafts, and gather around the campfire for songs, stories, and S’mores. There are two afternoon activity periods with things like swimming, tie dying, bracelets, board games, Dungeons and Dragons (with a trained DM), Magic the Gathering, floor hockey, and more. We also have various week-long tournaments that conclude with a trophy for the winner.
Logistics and Financials
Worried about costs and transportation? We offer financial aid and scholarship options to ensure our camp is accessible. Information about affording camp can be found here. For added convenience, we also provide a bus service to and from South Portland. The bus costs $30 each way and the deposit is non-refundable and can be signed up in the CampDoc software.

- Capstone Week 1: Starts 6/30/24 through 7/6/24
- Capstone Week 2: Starts 7/7/24 through 7/13/24
- Girls' Week: Starts 7/14/24 through 7/20/24
